Jill Royka-Kline Jill Royka-Kline
has been teaching dance since she was 11 and her parents
built a dance studio in their basement. At the age of 18,
Jill purchased an existing studio and grew it into the Jill
Royka’s Spotlight School of the Arts that it is today. She
has a B.A. from the University of Akron. Many of her
students have gone on to professional careers in dance and
teaching. Jill also is the Director of shows for Today’s
Bride Bridal shows. She is married and has two boys.
Fran Kaiser Fran Kaiser has been with this Studio for 15 years. She met
Jill through the University of Akron Dance program, where
she received her B.A. in Dance and childhood studies. Fran
has coached many of our award-winning competition groups to
top awards ,and also continues her education at every
opportunity. Fran is the owner of DancExpress, a traveling
preschool creative dance program. Kelli Sanford
Kelli Sanford holds a Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary
Dance from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of
Arts in Dance from The University of Akron. Ms. Sanford
currently dances professionally with Tikvah Company of
Artists and is a featured soloist in the production SEVEN
which has been performed in Cleveland, Chicago, and
Philadelphia. Tikvah is a multi-artistic company based in
Chicago/Cleveland under the artistic direction of Linda
Kahn. Ms. Sanford is a Part-Time Assistant Lecturer in Dance
at The University of Akron where she teaches ballet and
modern, and also a Part-Time Lecturer in Dance at Case
Western Reserve University where she teaches Graham-based
modern. At CWRU Ms. Sanford received numerous awards in
excellence in teaching, performing, theatrical elements, and
a prestigious Pancoast award that enabled her to travel to
Australia to study the Aboriginal Culture and Dance. Most
recently she was nominated in the undergraduate student body
for “Most Engaging Lecturer Award”. Kelli has performed with
Opera Cleveland, Louder Than Words Dance Company and has had
her choreography featured at the Northeast Ohio Dance
Festival and the Ohio Young Artists Dance Festival in 2002.
This Summer Ms. Sanford was selected as the Lead Artist in
Dance for the city of Akron’s Summer Arts Experience program
where she had her choreography featured in the Heinz Poll
Summer Dance Festival at Goodyear Heights Park Aug.
2009.Kelli was the Dance Instructor of Ohio Ballet’s Turned
Out Tikes Children’s’ Program for five years, and she has
taught at many NEO Dance schools. Ms. Sanford attended the
Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance Summer Intensive
on a two-week scholarship, and has studied with former
artists and principal dancers of the MGDC such as Diane
Gray, Gary Galbraith, Joyce Herring, Pascal Rioult, and Tom
Smith. Kelli specializes in Graham-based Modern and teaches
ballet, tap, and jazz. She is a sought-after instructor and
is proud to continue to offer her expertise in dance
training to Spotlight School of the Arts. She has
choreographed many award-winning dances such as “Most
Entertaining” and “Most Unique Choreography” in the
competition setting of dance. This is Kelli’s seventh year
at JRSSA. Tanya Gall Tanya Gall received her B.A. in Dance from the University of
Akron in 2003. While at the University, Ms. Gall
participated in many University of Akron Dance Company
performances. She also was a member of the Ill’u’syn Hip Hop
Dance group as an officer, choreographer and performer.
Besides performing you can find Ms. Gall teaching various
styles of dance throughout Northeast Ohio. Ms. Gall also
danced for the Cleveland Barons hockey team and was a
company member for Cleveland Contemporary Dance Theatre (CCDT).
Amber Wiley Amber Wiley has been teaching
dance since the age of 18. She began her dance career at
Gotta Dance Studio with Francine LeRoy and taught for her
for 12 years. Amber had traveled with the dance company to
many regional and national competitions and even to Italy,
as a U.S ambassador. For six years she choreographed several
numbers for the dance company of Gotta Dance. Her favorite
thing about dance is watching the kids grow into talented
young performers and, of course, watching them have a good
time. She holds a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood
Education from the University of Akron. She is currently
employed as a teacher at The Goddard School.
Samantha Lupo Samantha Lupo is
a recent graduate of Revere High School. She will be
attending The University of Akron in the fall and will be
pursuing a major in dance and business. Samantha has been a
dancer at Jill Royka’s Spotlight School of the Arts for the
past fifteen years and has been teaching the last several
years. She plans to take on a more active role at the
studio. Samantha’s love for dance runs deep and she hopes to
help others appreciate this art form. |
